The boys left :(
My boys were here this past weekend. I love it when they visit!! We played in the pool with Bonnie, we ate, we chilled, we Starbucksed. It was lovely. And after they left on Sunday morning I went into the "office" and put in 11 hours of work prepping for this week. Curriculum Night on Tuesday... I don't know what fresh hell this is, but it's a lot of work. I have to do two "presentations" - one in English, one in Spanish - for the parents of my students regarding my discipline plan, daily routine, what we're learning, what we will learn, how this goes, how that goes... Aye caramba.
Oh and I hate Social Studies. I hated the classes when I was in school (elementary through high school) and I hate teaching it now. This is a community, this is history, this government, blah blah blah. Excuse me, I DISLIKE Social Studies. We don't use the word "hate."
And no one from the district is calling me back regarding Science and I'm going to get screwed on the kits. I have to teach "Rocks and Minerals," "Sound," "Plants" something or other, and "Arthropods." Seriously? Bugs? Me? You have GOT to be kidding. Yuck. Anyhow sometimes they do a training for teachers on the kits so you don't go in blind, and I wanted to take those before I taught each unit. But no one is calling me back!! Guess I'll have to wing it. I need those kits!
And I have parents complaining that their precious isn't getting the attention she needs and is getting punished too much "for nothing." Uh, yeah. "Precious" is something else. And then there are the parents who were wondering why there wasn't any homework yet. Um... it's the second week of school? I'm getting there! Sheesh! The kids get home alive. I AM doing the best I can!!
I love my job.
