I'll give you fish. I'll give you candy.

What a wonderful, wonderful day. After a quick stop at Starbucks for mochas, we headed out to Cambria to have lunch at the same place the boys and I found two years ago, Robin's. It was a fantastic find, and since then the boys have made it a regular destination. We started with a small appetizer of red pepper humus, tabbouleh and tatziki . Then ex-husband and I shared/traded half each of a chicken chipotle club on ciabbata and a curried chicken salad on a croissant. And ex-husband's husband had porcini ravioli with a wedge of decadent garlic bread. Um. YUM-O. No one had room for dessert.

Cambria is a quaint little town, with shops galore: herb and garden, wine and wine tasting, artisans, glass, sweets, etc. Click HERE to read all about it from two years ago. :) The only difference between then and now is that I bought some dark chocolate truffles as dessert. I even bought a new pair of earrings again this time. Moonstones. I love them.

After Cambria we went to Harmony - a town with a very old dairy which is now converted into a pottery shop with a chapel next door. Interesting combo... but the chapel is used for weddings and the diary/pottery shop is quaint enough for a cool reception, I think. I bought a ring to match my new earrings and ex-husband's husband bought a present for a friend.

From there we drove past some of the haunts of my previous trip (Morro Rock, Pismo Beach, etc) and went on to Oso Flaco. I wanted to go to the beach. I wanted to feel the sand between my toes and the salty air on my face. Oso Flaco has a boardwalk path through the dunes to the beach and it was gorgeous. The day was overcast and cool, the sea was choppy, the pelicans were all over the place, the seagulls were loud, it was spectacular.

Top all that off with sushi for dinner, tres leches cake and strawberry ice cream for dessert (NOT necessarily together, both just happen to be available), a movie or two, and this has been and continues to be one of the best Saturdays ever.

Yesterday was incredible, today was fantastic, and tomorrow will be eventful. I love visiting my boys.
