Movies and Reading
Two of my favorite past times, but two that I haven't indulged in in quite a while. However, I've made the time while here. I've seen The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and today I went to see Sex and the City. I thoroughly enjoyed all three.
Prince Caspian is better than the first Narnia movie; great special effects, true enough to the book, and I recommend it to all fantasy/family/Narnia fans. Indiana Jones, well, he still got game. Cate Blanchette is awesome, and bringing back Karen Allen was a great idea. The movie is a lot of fun and a great way to get "the next generation" into the series. Nephew loved it. Sex and the City was just great. I miss the show, I miss the girls, and I was left wanting to know if they live happily ever after. Now I know.
I've read The Broker by what's-his-face, the guy who wrote The Firm. What's his name? Anyhow, it's the first book I've read in a long time just for fun. Suspense, murder, intrigue, Europe - what's not to like? I'm currently reading Mistress of the Elgin Marbles - a biography of Mary Nisbet, Countess of Elgin. I haven't read anything in this genre in a long, long while, and I'm quite enjoying it. Plus, it's given me the title for my future memoires. Mistress of Lost her Marbles. It fits.
